WAXING : Waxing is a semi- permanent hair removal system which removes the hair from the root. Hair growth can take up to 2 to 8 weeks. Waxing is a great method for people who have sensitive skin.

BENEFITS: Waxing is an effective method to remove large amounts of hair at one time. It is long lasting and hair grows back thinner and softer.

DRAWBACKS: Some people experience in grown hairs, red bumps, and sometimes minor follicle bleeds. This is more likely to occur when waxing areas with thick hairs, the first few times when hair follicles are the strongest. Pain is also reduced the more times you get waxed, and by regular exfoliating and/or applying an astringent. These products can also be found for retail in the spa.

MYTHS: Waxing does not create wrinkles. Wrinkles are caused by environmental/sun damage, dehydration, diet/smoking, and the break down of our elastin/collogen fibers due to lack of moisture, exfoliation, and age. Merle Norman carries products that can help address these issues.

People who should avoid waxing: Anyone that is on accutane/Retinyol- A, steroid medication, or have thin/ fragile skin.

WAXING VS. THREADING
Both techniques are good but there are differences in them.

PAIN: Let’s be honest here, they both hurt. Pulling out hairs from your face or anywhere on your body isn't going to be pleasant. The difference is if you want it all done at one time (waxing) or 30 hairs at once times by six (threading). You Decide.

PERFECTION: With my experience I have seen both hair removal techniques. (Holes and brow disconnection). Make sure you find the best brow technician who knows what they are doing. Most threader’s have not been professionally trained (or certified), and I personally do not want anyone standing over top of me with freshly opened hair follicles to be using a thread that is attached to their mouth.

NATURAL : 100% Natural.

BUMPS: Waxing and Threading both pull the hair out from its root and can result in little white bumps. They go away the more often you get it done and there are products available to reduce this irritation.
